Famur Completes Mini-Face Test for ArcelorMittal



At the end of 2014 Polish underground mining equipment and machinery manufacturer Famur, carried out mini-face testing of their longwall system for JSC ArcelorMittal Temirtau Kazakhstan, and signed their second supply contract with the operator.

‘The second contract with JSC ArcelorMittal Temirtau Kazakhstan is a confirmation that Famur’s proprietary solutions for the mining industry fully comply with our customer’s expectations. The market for machinery and equipment in the mining industry is extremely demanding and each project involves individual adaptations to the equipment for the specific mining and geological conditions in each mine. Therefore, we are pleased to execute new contracts with our existing customers – it is a confirmation of the great trust placed in FAMUR Groups comprehensive products and services. Under the contract from 2012 our longwall system has been working in Kazakhstan and now further equipment is to operate there as soon as the installation is completed – said Szymon Jarno, FAMUR Deputy CEO of Export Sales, during the commissioning of the machines by the Kazakh partners.

The JSC ArcelorMittal Temirtau Kazakhstan contract comes on the back of other significant export orders that were signed by Famuer during 2014, which include;
- The deilivery of longwall systems, auxiliary equipment and spare parts with the Turkish operator Hattat Enerji Ve Maden TIC A:S:
- Design, delivery, assembly supervision, commissioning , and staff training of the complete coal handling system, with the Indonesian company PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara.
- Longwall systems, auxiliary equipment and spare parts to the Russian company OAO Suek-Kuzbass.
