Thermo Fisher Scientific recently launched its Ramsey Micro-Tech 9000 Electronics platform, designed to provide enhanced communication and connectiv-ity for process weighing and monitoring applications. According to the vendor, the Ramsey Micro-Tech 9000 Electronics platform improves communication and efficiency via built-in Ethernet and USB and prevents system downtime with inde-pendent load cell troubleshooting. The new platform replaces both the Thermo Scientific Ramsey Micro-Tech 2000 and Ramsey Micro-Tech 3000 series of elec-tronic instruments.

The Ramsey Micro-Tech 9000 platform features built-in USB for such tasks as uploading set-up information, downloading event logging, setting up multiple systems at once and enhanced system configura-tion. The built-in Ethernet enables the platform to support a wide range of com-mon protocols and tie equipment into existing systems or establish new process systems. Other features include an improved HMI interface that supports mul-tiple languages (English, Italian, Spanish and German, among others); global approvals; and common technology among components and enhanced hardware design for improved serviceability.

The Ramsey Micro-Tech 9000 plat-form includes 10 models that will be launched over several months. The first three devices to be released include the:

• Micro-Tech 9101 scale Integrator used with Thermo Scientific Ramsey Series 10-101R, 10-20 and 10-17 conveyor belt scale systems;

• Micro-Tech 9105 weighbelt feeder con-troller used with Thermo Scientific Ramsey Model 90-100, 90-125 and 90-150 weighbelt feeders; and

• Micro-Tech 9100 static weight indicator.
