Caterpillar Introduces D11T Dozer

Caterpillar says its new D11T bulldozer delivers reliable performance, long life and lowest-cost-per-ton production in mining and other high-volume dozing applications. The machine also is available in an optional CarryDozer configuration (D11T CD) for applications that require moving large loads over long distances or up steep slopes.

An 850-hp (634-kW) Cat C32 ACERT engine powers the D11T, providing 21% more torque rise for responsive power needed when dozing in tough conditions. Electro-hydraulic controls make it easy to operate productively over long shifts. The dozer control can be programmed to preset blade response, blade float, blade pitch and spread rate. The ripper control is also programmable with features such as auto lift, shank out and auto stow. For moving material over longer distances, an AutoCarry option provides automatic blade control (raise and lower only) during the carry segment of the dozing cycle. Cat’s Computer Aided Earthmoving System (CAES) is available as an option, and both the D11T and D11T CD can be ordered in a CAES-ready configuration

The new models incorporate both new and updated features to accommodate operators and technicians, with options such as a hydraulically actuated access ladder and a rear walkway with a 505-gallon (1,987-liter) fuel tank that makes it easier to clean rear and side windows and to access the rear lights for maintenance. WAVS, an optional rear-vision camera system, improves visibility and can be ordered with one or two cameras. A nine-lamp HID lighting package, designed especially for mining, improves visibility during night operation. The fender lights can be left on for up to 10 minutes and will turn off automatically, allowing the operator to exit the machine at night while the area is illuminated. Two under-hood service lamps illuminate the engine compartment for safer, faster service in dark conditions. A disconnect switch locks out all electrical power when necessary, and a second switch cuts power to the starter only, while keeping main power available for diagnostics.

Several features that were attachments on the D11R are standard on the T-Series, including a quick-change system for engine and drive train oil; ripper hydraulics; a 120-volt engine block heater; and an extra 15-amp electrical converter.
